Bockraden refers to both a district with several villages of Ibbenbüren in the Tecklenburger Land region and a notch of the Schafberg massif near Ibbenbüren, which is commonly known as the Bockradener Graben. The district has 4,608 inhabitants.
The district of Bockraden is bordered to the west by Dickenberg and to the east by Schafberg. Both are districts of Ibbenbüren as well as parts of the Schafberg plateau. South of Bockraden, the city center of Ibbenbüren is adjacent at the foot of Schafberg. To the north, in Niederbockraden, begins the area of the municipality of Mettingen with its district of Schlickelde.
