Assweiler is a district of the city of Blieskastel in the Saarpfalz district. The place belongs to the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve, a natural region in the lower reaches of the Blies River. Until the end of 1973, Assweiler was an independent municipality in the Sankt Ingbert district.
Assweiler is situated at an elevation of 355 m above sea level along the B 423, between the neighboring towns of Biesingen to the east, Erfweiler-Ehlingen to the southwest, Ommersheim to the west, and Seelbach to the north, at the foot of the 395 m high Hölschberg, one of the highest elevations in the Bliesgau.
In the district of the town, the Mandelbach springs, which flows into the Blies at Habkirchen and gave its name to the neighboring municipality of Mandelbachtal.
