The Nordviertel is a district and statistical district north of the city center of Recklinghausen, the area of which is roughly in the shape of a triangle. The north-northwest side of the triangle is formed by the L511 bypass, which has four lanes as a motorway feeder road to the A43. The tracks of the railway line from Recklinghausen to Münster serve as the eastern boundary, beyond which the eastern quarter adjoins. The south-western border to the Westviertel is formed by the street Cäcilienhöhe, which extends to the Stadtgarten. The southern tip borders on Grafenwall and Kurfürstenwall on the city centre, which still includes the residential buildings on the north side of the Kurfürstenwall.
