Bellona is a bronze statue that was designed and created by the sculptor Georg Kolbe between 1914 and 1922.
The double figure made of bronze was designed by the sculptor Georg Kolbe from 1914 to 1917. Bellona, the goddess of war in Roman religion, hands a sword to a waking warrior in the statue. The bronze figure was erected in September 1922 as part of a fountain with a round basin and a shallow limestone bowl in a small green space located in front of the residence of the president of the railway directorate Elberfeld. The villa located at Döppersberg 35 and 35A existed until its destruction during the air raids on Elberfeld in 1943 on the eastern side of the train station square.
