Bachem is a district of Frechen in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis. It is the third largest district of Frechen after the city centre and Königsdorf with around 5400 inhabitants.
Bachem lies along the B 264. The nearest motorway interchanges to the A1 are "Frechen" on the B 264 and "Gleuel" directly on the border with the Hürth district of the same name. The old village lay south of the B 264 elongated in the stream valley of the Bachemer Bach, which rose with two springs on the Villehang near the Feldhof and in its further course fed the castle ponds of Bachem Castle, Haus Bitz and Hemmerich Castle as well as two mills before it united with the Frechener Bach.
