Schaephuysen is a former municipality and village in the district of Kleve and has been a village in Rheurdt in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1 July 1969. Both places were historically part of Upper Guelders and therefore of the Netherlands. After this village, it is called Schaephuysense Heuvelland. In a broader sense, this hill country is part of the Lower Rhine Ridge.
