Breberen is located about four kilometers north of Gangelt on the county roads 3 and 17. Near the village, at the Saeffeler Brook, is the nature reserve Höngener- and Saeffeler Bruch.
During heavy rain and snowmelt, surface water from the area of Breberen flows into the Saeffeler Brook and then further into the Rodebach to the Maas. The Saeffeler Brook has a length of 12.747 km with a total catchment area of 47.479 km².
