Groß Zicker is a district of the municipality of Mönchgut in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is located on the southern side of the Zicker Mountains, also called Zicker Alps, a little east of the Zicker Höft. These dry hills, rising to about 65 meters, are part of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve and the Mönchgut Nature Reserve, and are extensively farmed with sheep. Groß Zicker also includes Groß Zicker Ausbau, also referred to as "Rollmopshausen," as a fish factory was located there during the GDR era. During GDR times, a holiday camp was operated in Groß Zicker.
The name of the village likely derives from the Slavic word for tit, Sikor. The place was first mentioned in the Knýtlinga saga as "Tikarey," "Portus Tikarey," "Trikareyjar," or "Trikarey." This also referred to the place Klein Zicker.
