The Stadtwaldhaus is a restaurant and an architectural monument in the Krefeld city forest at Hüttenallee 108 in Krefeld-Bockum.
The first part of today's building complex was built in 1901/1902 as the "Waldschänke" restaurant and spa house according to plans by the architect Hermann Bergerfurth for the gastronomic equipment of a landscape park designed by Fritz Rosorius. The basis was a donation from the Krefeld silk baron Wilhelm Deuß. The founder Wilhelm Deuß and the mayor of Krefeld, Ernst Küper, opened the building on 8 July 1902. After a further donation by Deuß, the complex was considerably expanded in 1910/1911 with an extension with event halls and a terrace. The plans for this were provided by the Art Nouveau architect Georg "Jörg" Bruggaier , who had also designed the Krefeld sewage treatment plant shortly before. Design hallmarks of the extension are the voluminous hipped roof with bat dormers and the central triangular gable on the north side. The gable field is decorated with a monumental Art Nouveau mosaic by Adolf Münzer, which shows the goddess Artemis on the Kerynite hind with a black raven.
