Reformed Church

The Reformed Church Ohne is located in Ohne, a member municipality of the joint municipality of Schüttorf in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim in Lower Saxony. The parish belongs to the Synodal Association of Grafschaft Bentheim of the Evangelical Reformed Church.

The oldest part of the hall church, made of ashlar masonry, are the two bays of the central part of the nave, which was built in the years 1220–25 in the Romanesque style. At the end of the 13th century, the church tower was placed in front of the nave to the west. At the end of the 15th century, the choir with a three-sided end was built in Gothic style in place of the original third bay. Its walls are supported by buttresses, between which there are three-part tracery windows with fish bladders. The nave, covered with a slate-covered gable roof, has small arched windows. The tower is covered with an eight-sided pointed helmet. Close to its eaves are sound arcades designed as biforia. The interior of the nave is covered with a groin vault. The church furnishings include a pulpit and a communion table from the 17th century. The baptismal font dates back to the 13th century.
