The settlement was located between Stetten and Strümpfelbach. Today, there are vineyards there. In the past, there was the namesake Lindhaldenwald, which was cleared around 1717.
The settlement was first mentioned in a document in 1360. According to a land register from 1494, the settlement was quite extensive. Around the time of the Thirty Years' War, the place consisted of about 20 farms. Many then moved down to the village of Stetten to seek refuge in the castle. The plague epidemics in Swabia in 1596, 1607, and 1626 also contributed to this.
