The Schermbeck Museum of Local History is housed in a former farmer's house. An examination of the oak trunks used dates the building to the years after 1566. This makes it the oldest surviving residential building in the town centre.
In a permanent exhibition, the local history museum shows a wealth of silent witnesses of Schermbeck's cultural history since Roman times. Many exhibits from trade, agriculture and household take visitors back to a time long ago
