Elbergen is the northernmost part of the municipality and is a small place with its own town center.
In 1967, Elbergen joined the "Samtgemeinde Kirchspiel Emsbüren". In 1974, the place became a district of Emsbüren. In the old parish, Elbergen was the largest farming community.
The village of Elbergen includes extensive properties such as the Elberger Feld, a heath and dune area, the Elberger Moor, and the Elberger Schlipse.
The lowest point of Emsbüren is the Elberger waterfront area at 21.9m above sea level.
The St. John the Baptist Church was built between 1290 and 1310.
Over the years, the church has been remodeled and expanded.
A popular local recreation area is the forest area Elberger Schlipse, through which the well-known Ems cycle path runs.
Elbergen is a lively residential community in which the town center with the old farms around the church has retained its village character to this day.
The old school building in Elbergen now serves as the village community center.
