The Duisburg synagogue was built according to the plans of architect Zvi Hecker. After more than two years of construction, it was inaugurated on February 21, 1999. With over 2,800 members, it is the centre of the Jewish community of Duisburg-Mülheim/Ruhr-Oberhausen.
