Hombroich museum island on river Erft since 1987. Karl-Heinrich Müller brought together art, architecture and nature according to the French Impressionist Paul Cézanne's idea of 'art parallel to nature. Ten curious exhibition pavilions developed by the sculptor Erwin Heerich, walk-in buildings with well-known and lesser-known works or sometimes no works of art 🤭. The site is also home to the studio and residence of the late artist Anatol Herzfeld. He mainly worked with the materials wood, natural stone and iron and was one of the co-founders of the Hombroich sculpture park.
