Grenzach-Wyhlen - Schallstadt

The first stage of the Badische Wine Cycle Path leads through the wine landscape of the Markgräflerland. Over approximately 78 km, one sees the most beautiful vineyards and passes nearly 70 wineries. Starting in Grenzach-Wyhlen, the cycle path opens up views of Germany's southwesternmost vineyard, the Hornfelsen. Overall, this section of the route offers great views between the Rhine plain and the Black Forest mountains. Wonderful wine panoramas unfold as a reward at the end of an ascent, and the small wine towns of the Markgräflerland guarantee a delightful passage. The Markgräflerland not only awaits every wine-interested cyclist with nearly 70 wineries along the route but also with great attractions such as the wine label museum in Müllheim, the Roman park "Villa urbana," or the listed old town of Staufen. Numerous refreshment options provide sustenance along the way; additionally, the traditional spas Balinea in Bad Bellingen and Vita Classica in Bad Krozingen offer relaxation.
