The third stage of the Baden Wine Cycle Route leads for approximately 53 km through the vineyards of the Breisgau to the Ortenau. From Riegel, the wine cycle path leads through the Breisgau wine region to Gengenbach in the Kinzigtal. Passing the ruins of Lichteneck, the route continues through rolling vineyards, charming villages and charming towns characterized by mansions, half-timbered houses and beautiful town halls. Near the baroque town of Ettenheim, it is worth making a detour to the Heubergturm, which offers a wonderful panoramic view. Cyclists pass the castle in Schmieheim, where a brewery is located, and Lahr, which mainly blooms during the chrysanthemum season in autumn, before the stage ends in beautiful Gengenbach.
