Through Elzbachtal to Eltz Castle and Pyrmont

This route runs along the beautiful Eltz Castle. After the castle, you’ll walk along the Elzbach, passing the Pyrmonter Mill, and you can take a break or have a drink at 3 locations along the way.

The starting point is in the north of Karden by the St. Castor church (also known as the "Cathedral of the Moselle") or at a large parking lot at the train station.

This route requires good physical fitness. Sturdy hiking shoes (B, BC shoes) are definitely recommended.

Attention!: Many parts are not accessible for strollers or wheelchairs.

You can shorten the route by cutting off a section from Möntenich to Brohl. But then, of course, you miss out on a beautiful part of the hike (Pyrmont).

The duration of the route is approximately 6 hours of walking time.

The total distance is 24 km.

There are 4 elevations that are not very difficult, and most of it runs along rivers, dense forests, and vineyards or farmland.
