Badenweiler Day 1

A ride in the Black Forest of almost 100 km and more than 2100 meters in elevation.

You are in a region where you should not come unprepared.

If you enjoy climbing, Badenweiler is the right place for you.

The ride begins with a steep ascent, and after 6.5 km you are already at an elevation of 520 meters at a height of 920 m.

The ups and downs continue for a while, and after 35 km you have almost 1000 meters of elevation, and it is somewhat quieter.

Here I was able to drink a cola, and that turned out to be necessary afterwards.

It is best to use the following flat section to recover a bit, as what comes next is still quite challenging.

When you reach the vineyards, the really hard work begins with solid inclines.

"The devil is in the tail," I mentioned on Strava.

Dosing is key, and make sure to bring enough drinks when the weather is warmer.

I rode in 26 degrees.

The area is completely paved.

The ride could be completed in a very short time.

However, I adjusted it here and there while riding on site.

It is generally better to follow the somewhat larger lanes rather than taking a detour for a "nice" job.

This is a ridden version. Along the larger paths, there are often nice separated bike paths.

I never felt unsafe here, as German drivers are very polite and cautious towards cyclists.
