The wild daffodil valleys from Fuhrtsbach, Perlenbach, Schwalmbach and Krockesbach to Rocher du Bieley
Hike through dense forests and open daffodil meadows
The daffodil valleys are located in the east of Belgium, near the German border. These valleys are best known for their vast fields full of wild daffodils that bloom from late March to mid-May. The valleys stretch from Perlenbach to Krockesbach and form an impressive nature reserve.
During a walk through the daffodil valleys you will experience the beautiful nature up close. The smell of spring and the sound of birds around you create a relaxed atmosphere. The route starts at the Wahlerscheid car park and takes you along wider forest paths through this dense forest. As you walk on, the landscape opens up and you are surrounded by the fields full of wild daffodils and narrower paths. It is an unforgettable sight to see the bright yellow flowers bloom as far as the eye can see.
The highlight of the route is Rocher de Bieley or the "Matterhorn of the Eifel", where you have a beautiful view over the Galgental and Schwalmbach valleys. From here you can see the wide valleys with the bright yellow daffodils, the winding Schwalmbach / Perlenbach and the green surrounding forests. It's a breathtaking sight that you won't soon forget.
When hiking, it is important to enjoy the surroundings, but also to respect nature. The daffodils are vulnerable and therefore it is not allowed to pick them or deviate from the path. In this way, we can ensure that these beautiful flowers continue to bloom for years to come and that we can all continue to enjoy them.
Just like our previous daffodil hike from Rocherath and its Olef and Holzwarche valleys, this hike through the daffodil valleys of Perlenbach and Krockesbach is a unique and unforgettable experience. The beautiful forests, the colorful flower meadows and the breathtaking view of Rocher du Bieley make it highly recommended for those who love hiking and nature.
