Warndt-Wald-Weg

This tour offers a varied sequence of wooded landscapes, forest edges, ponds, hollow paths and stream valleys. Beautiful views can be enjoyed from the Meisenberg. The view from the viewing platform over the Freyming sand pit in the western loop of the trail is spectacular.

The Warndt-Wald-Weg is an approximately 16.5 km long circular hiking trail through a densely wooded cultural landscape between Karlsbrunn, Dorf im Warndt, Emmersweiler and St. Nikolaus and from there into the south-western Warndt with the Karlsbrunn game reserve to the border with neighboring France.Princely hunting, glassmaking, forestry and mining have shaped this landscape. The trail offers a varied sequence of forests, forest edges, ponds, hollow paths and stream valleys. Beautiful views can be enjoyed from Meisenberg, St. Nikolausbach and above St. Nikolaus. The view from the viewing platform over the Freyming sand pit (French: Carrière) on the western part of the trail is spectacular.
