The Odervorland area attracts many creative people due to its natural charm. The fertile landscape is an inspiration for special arts and crafts that you can learn more about on the round trip from Briesen on this creative tour through the Odervorland area.
The RE1 regional express train will take you to the village. From there, you cycle over the A12 motorway towards the Kersdorf Lock after visiting the Heimatstube local history parlour. There you will encounter an imposing monument of a stag, also called the “Denkmal des Sechsundsechszigenders”. It was dedicated to the shooting of a royal red deer by Frederick I. For anyone who does not believe this: the original is hanging in Jagdschloss Moritzburg hunting lodge. The trip continues through a beautiful area of woodland, passing through Biegen on the way to Pillgram, a small village with wine-growing for the Brandenburger Landwein label on the Weingut Patke vineyard. Wine connoisseurs can taste white and red wines here as well as regional delicacies. Visitors can experience traditional village culture in the Vorlaubenhaus, a half-timbered building typical of the region, with the gable end supported by pillars. It is a 300-year old rural house with a rustic style of architecture. In its long history, it has been the village inn, a hostel, an electricity substation and a stagecoach inn, in which conversations over a beer revolve around country life. The route to Petersdorf goes past the “Erbkrug” guest house and restaurant in Jacobsdorf. The company GOLEM revived the old historic structural ceramic craft techniques around 30 years ago. It uses fire to produce replicas of historic structural ceramics for restoration work. These include bricks, shaped stones, elaborate terracotta and brightly coloured glazed facing bricks. The sales exhibition in Petersdorf makes builders hearts beat that little bit faster.
You will cross the Pilgerweg pilgrimage route at the manor house in Sieversdorf. The cluster of buildings consisting of the lovingly restored manor house and the stable buildings used by craft trades also house the Scheffler organ workshop, a specialist in the restoration and reconstruction of the “Great German Romantic Organ”, like those built by well-known organ builders between 1850 and 1930. Groups of 5 people or more can pre-book to visit the workshop. After passing through Petersdorf, you will arrive at your destination in Briesen after an exciting time on the Kreativ-Tour.
