Apple Tour

The Apple Tour is a stage of the Oderbruchbahn cycle path from Fürstenwalde, via Steinhöfel and Müncheberg to Buckow (Märkische Schweiz).Anyone who has always wanted to know what Ochsennase (ox nose), Hasenköppe (hare heads) or Schafsnase (sheep nose) are will find the answers on this gourmet tour in the Oder-Spree lake region. In Tempelberg between Steinhöfel and Müncheberg, there is the oldest apple tree avenue in Brandenburg. 80 different fruit tree varieties have been planted here over the past 200 years. In 1804, the then Chancellor of the Reich and Count Karl August von Hardenberg planted the first apple trees. In the neighboring Müncheberg, there is the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), for which the avenue in Tempelberg also provides rich material for research. During the harvest season, fresh fruit can be enjoyed to your hearts content on the grounds of the fruit growing research station.
