The section from Holbeck to Baruth is a 15 km long part of the Flaeming Skate as the S4 feeder road. At the exit of Holbeck at route kilometre 11.15, the S4 branches off from RK 1. The path is 2 m wide, well asphalted and accompanies the country road to Baruth/Mark. Here you glide relaxed through predominantly wooded terrain. A stone's throw from the trail is the Stülper fairytale castle. Continue in the direction of Baruth through to Lynow. Here it is worth taking a look at the small Oscar Barnack Museum, which commemorates the inventor of the Leica 35mm camera. The Lynow and Schöbendorf crossings unfortunately offer no footpath or cycle path. Please continue carefully on the road.
Pass through Paplitz to reach Baruth. At the entrance to Baruth, the skating track ends for the time being. Continue along the footpath until you reach a roundabout. If you turn left here, you will reach the centre of the village with the 14th century church of St. Sebastian, which is particularly worth seeing. Only a few steps away from the church, the park belonging to Baruth Castle, a former landscape garden in the English style, invites you to explore. The castle itself is still waiting to be awakened from its slumber. The adjacent Old Castle, now called the Women's House, has already been renovated and forms a fairytale ensemble with the partially rebuilt half-timbered walkway. It is only a few steps from here to the railway station.
If you want to go further, you can follow the route of the S5 feeder road from the roundabout along the B 96 to the Glashütte museum village. At the Klein Ziescht junction you cross the railway tracks and from there it is only 3.5 km to the museum village. Further along the B96, a cycle path leads to Friedrichshof in the neighbouring district of Dahme-Spreewald. There, cyclists can connect to the Dahmeradweg.
Note: The maintenance and care of the routes is one of the constant tasks in the Flaeming-Skate region. This means that there can always be temporary restrictions on sections of individual routes. Please check the Flaeming-Skate homepage for information on this aspect in good time before your arrival.
