Hike to the Oder

Difficulty level: easy, suitable for wheelchair users.
It is a very special experience to walk through the table-level floodplain landscape with its lush green meadows. The view is unobstructed for many kilometres. The flora and fauna offer ideal conditions for a species-rich fauna and flora.
The Oder is one of the largest rivers in Germany and forms the border with Poland. The bizarre landscape is impressive and uniquely beautiful. It presents itself differently in all seasons - sometimes with extremely high water and then again with low water levels.
In winter it is a very special experience when the pack ice piles up or the small ice floes dance on the water. This natural spectacle is also known as the Brieger Gänse.
If you are planning a longer hike, you can walk from the Oder to Eisenhüttenstadt (5 km) or to Ratzdorf to the mouth of the Oder Neisse (6 km).
