Cities worth seeing, an impressive castle, glittering blue lakes - strung together like a string of pearls, picturesque meanders of the Havel River and numerous locks: a houseboat tour from Rheinsberg to Zehdenick promises relaxation as well as adventure on the water and on land.
The trip starts in Rheinsberg. A first lap across the lake Grienericksee is highly recommended: because the rococo castle and parts of its park can be marveled at particularly well from the boat deck in all its splendor.

The tour leads from the "Prinzenstadt" northward through the Rheinsberg chain of lakes: narrow canals and wide lakes alternate, shades of blue and green dominate the natural landscape here. A first lock is reached shortly before the village of Kleinzerlang, and a little later the state border to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is crossed. Those who want to - and have time - can already moor here in various harbors.

After the lock in Steinhavelmühle and a trip across the Röblinsee, the water town Fürstenberg/Havel is reached. Its name describes the island location of the center of the small town in the middle between three lakes and the Havel. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through the old town and the city park, trying out the public sports and fitness equipment or a hike along the tree trail in Havelpark or an adventure with a SUP (rented locally) - Fürstenberg/Havel is always worth a stop.

On the crossing of the large Stolpsee, a detour to heavenly Himmelpfort is possible. On the shores of the lake it is wonderful to relax, a fisherman offers fresh specialties and both the monastery ruins and the Christmas house next door are year-round tourist highlights.

From here, the tour leads along the meandering Havel River and through no less than four locks until Burgwall is reached. This is where the unique clay pond landscape begins! The now protected natural landscape, which formed with the clay mining in the 19th century, stretches to Zehdenick. The numerous, so-called clay pits can be discovered to the right and left of the Havel.

Today, Mildenberg is home to the "Ziegeleipark" (Brickworks Park) - an industrial museum with an adventure park for the whole family that provides information about what was once the largest brickworks district in Europe. A real experience not only for children!

The tour ends in the Havel town of Zehdenick. Its small, pretty old town invites you to stroll around and the old monastery complex is also worth a visit.
