Circular path Tiergarten

From Monday, 22.11.2024 - 24.02.2024, tree felling works are taking place in the Tiergarten, according to district forester Stephan Parsiegla. The client is the forestry operation Hammer of the State Forestry Brandenburg. The affected area includes the area between Krimnicksee and Tiergartenstraße as well as individual areas west of Tiergartenstraße. The only exception is the total reserve in the northern area including the Husareneck. For safety reasons, the hiking trails Zeesener See and Krüpelsee as well as the circular hiking trail Tiergarten will remain closed.The comfortable, 7 km long circular hiking trail through the nature reserve with its ancient trees, passing by the shores of Staabe and Krimmnicksee, is a highlight for young and old alike. The path mostly runs on easily walkable forest paths and is consistently marked with a green deciduous tree. The unique wood sculptures by chainsaw artists provide variety, rest, and seating opportunities along the hiking trail for relaxation. Information about local flora and fauna is provided to hikers on information boards along the nature trail and the orchard meadow.The Tiergarten was established in 1725 by order of Friedrich Wilhelm I. Several enclosures for red, black, and roe deer were built to supply the nearby castle with game meat throughout the year. Since that time, the name also referred to the forest bordering the enclosures.
