Bishop’s Tour

On the Bishop’s Tour, cyclists can feel as though they have gone back all the way to medieval times, when the powerful bishops of Havelberg would travel the Prignitz region by horse or by carriage, to discipline robber knights or to visit synods and monasteries in their diocese. From the town Havelberg that is also known as the cradle of the Prignitz region, the tour leads all the way to Wittstock. Along the way, there are old bishop’s castles, noteworthy places of pilgrimage and towns that are many centuries old, all waiting to be explored. In the landscape of the Prignitz region with its romantic little streams and idyllic villages, there are many places that are worth a detour.
