On Brandenburgs Havel lakes

Close together, the blue pearls nestle in this dreamlike canoe area. Especially on the romantic side arms of the Havel, water sports enthusiasts can glide peacefully through wide meadows and pastures. Along the way, they encounter only a few small villages. Nature lovers can reach Lake Rietzer through a lush, green tunnel. The protected bird paradise has been discovered by cranes and white storks. Beavers and otters also like to show themselves here. Length / Duration: 36 km (2 days) (with a detour to Brandenburg an der Havel 59 km) Start: Ketzin / Havel Destination: Lehnin Arrival: Public transport: From Berlin Hauptbahnhof take the RE4 (Rathenow) to Elstal. From here take bus 662 (Falkenrehde) to Ketzin (approx. 45 minutes). By car: From Berlin via the B5 and A10 to Ketzin (approx. 1 hour). Departure: Public transport: From Lehnin take bus 550 to Groß Kreutz. From here take the RE1 (Frankfurt / Oder) to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (approx. 1.5 hours). By car: From Lehnin take bus 550 to Groß Kreutz. From here continue with the RE1 (Frankfurt / Oder) to Potsdamer Hauptbahnhof and then take bus 614 (Gutenpaaren) to Ketzin to get back to the car (approx. 2 hours). Route: Ketziner Havel, Kleine Havel, Enge Havel, Trebelsee, Fliederhavel, Weseramer Havel, Krumme Havel, Emster Kanal, Rietzer See, Netzener See, Klostersee (Lehnin) Detour: Across the Havel to Brandenburg an der Havel (additional 22 km round trip). Land excursion: Ketzin/Havel: Havelpromenade, St. Petri Church Lehnin: Cistercian Monastery practical information: Havel with numerous charming side arms (hardly any motorboats) and except for Trebelsee only smaller lake bays: Emster Kanal, crossing the bird paradise Rietzer See (hardly any motorboats): low current, easy to navigate in both directions (no weirs or locks).
