Natura Trail Mandelbachtal

A circular hiking trail that shows hikers the Bliesgau biosphere and some NATURA 2000 areas from their most beautiful side for a whole day over approx. 20 km. It includes the gem of Gräfinthal, the heights of the Heidenkopf with its viewing tower, short woodland areas and the small village of Ormesheim.

In order to preserve Europe's natural heritage, a network of protected areas has been designated at the instigation of the European Union. These are bird sanctuaries for the protection of wild birds and fauna-flora-habitat areas (FFH areas) for the protection of fauna, flora and habitats. The resulting Europe-wide network of protected areas is called NATURA 2000. Naturefriends International has set itself the goal of opening up this network of areas with the Natura Trails and bringing people closer to the special features of the areas and the aims of the program. The aim of the 20 km long Natura Trail Mandelbachtal is to combine the experience of nature and recreation in nature with the knowledge of the need to protect it.
