Spazierweg Metzelberg

Short walk of approx. 4 km from Ommersheimer Weiher along country lanes to Biolandhof Wack and Heidehof. Here you can relax by the pond and breathe in the country air at the farms!

The Metzelberg walking trail leads once completely over the Metzelberg between Ommersheim and Seelbach. Past the Ommersheimer Weiher pond and the Eichelberger Hof (Wack organic farm), there is always something to discover! The idyllically situated reservoir is about one hectare in size and, with its small island, is home to numerous animals, some of which are rare. One exotic inhabitant of the pond are the red-cheeked turtles, which have made their home here. The Gangelbrunnen fountain is located in the center of the area around the Ommersheimer Weiher. The Eichelberger Hof is home to numerous native farm animals. You walk past the mobile chicken coop and grazing cows. Some of the farm's products can be purchased around the clock at Millich Heisje. After the hike, you can enjoy a picnic in the meadow or a visit to the restaurant's beer garden!

The easy tour is particularly suitable for families or simply as a leisurely walk in the afternoon. Due to the nature of the path and the slight incline, it is also easily accessible with a baby carriage or rollator.</p
