OD1 Amthof Tour

An exciting circular tour; the route leads through meadows, forests and vineyards. Several viewpoints such as Kraichsee and Bernhardsweihersee are on the route.

From the Geological Window, the route leads over Bremich towards Oberderdingen, then through Amthof and along Aschinger Straße to Kelterplatz in Unterdorf. From here, the route follows Weinstraße to the oil mill. Turn right into the forest and uphill to the "Hagenrain" barbecue hut (rest area). Continue above the vineyards, then briefly along the road to the hiking parking lot Kraichsee. At the lake, keep left up the path to "Breiten Weg". At the edge of the forest, turn right again to the Freudenstein campsite. This is followed by a panoramic path above the vineyards with great views. At the end of this path, the trail descends again into the forest to the Berhardsweihersee lake. Here you walk over the dam and then turn right past the lake until you reach the natural steps that take you to the upper vineyard path. A short time later, along the edge of the forest, you reach the "Eugen Gültlinger" viewpoint. The trail continues to the Horn barbecue hut and on to the starting point at the Geological Window.
