If you have already cycled the Kocher-Jagst cycle path in detail, the side valleys of the Kocher and Jagst offer an idyllic and natural alternative.

Widdern, once the episcopal seat of the Würzburg church, is the starting point for this cycle tour. There is plenty to discover here before or after the tour. First, you cycle along the Grünkern cycle path through the Kessach valley. A few kilometers after the start, the Henkersbrunnen fountain with lake and barbecue area in the forest offers the opportunity to take a leisurely break.

Cycle a little further along the Günkern cycle path in the Kessach valley and don't be surprised if you suddenly see scaffolding in the landscape ahead of you. This is the first of 18 works of art that have been erected around Osterburken on the Sculpture Cycle Path.

The most strenuous part of this cycle tour is just before Ravenstein-Merchingen. When changing from the Kessach to the Hergstbachtal valley, a few meters in altitude cannot be avoided.Your tour takes you back to Widdern along the Hergstbach stream to Ruchsen and finally on one of the most beautiful sections of the Kocher-Jagst cycle path.
