N2 Salz & Sole Radweg

Follow in the footsteps of the white gold on the Salt & Brine Cycle Path. The leisurely 38-kilometre tour offers variety for the whole family.

On the "Salt & Brine Cycle Path", you can get up close and personal with the spicy topic of salt in a sporty way. The 38 km circular route leads through varied landscapes in the Neckar Valley from Bad Rappenau via Bad Wimpfen, Untereisesheim, Bad Friedrichshall and Gundelsheim.

On the way, you will learn about the history and present of salt and brine in this region. In the brine baths of Bad Friedrichshall, Bad Rappenau and Bad Wimpfen, you can enjoy the beneficial effects of brine as a fountain of health.

From the starting point at Kurpark Bad Rappenau, the route first descends into the Neckar valley. The historic half-timbered streets of Kaiserpfalz Bad Wimpfen are well worth a stop. The Salt & Brine Cycle Path leads directly along the banks of the Neckar past Bad Wimpfen Monastery to the visitor salt mine in Bad Friedrichshall.

Here the cycle path crosses the Neckar and on the opposite side of the river, with views of vineyards and castles, it continues to the Teutonic town of Gundelsheim, where it crosses the Neckar again, with Schloss Horneck towering above it.

But romantics should also ride the cycle path once: the idyllic Fünfmühlental valley and fantastic views of the vast landscape make the cycle tour an unforgettable experience. As the tour is very well signposted throughout, you don't need to worry about missing a junction.
