Description by the author

As a short river tour, this tour takes you through the natural valleys of the Jagst, Seckach and Schefflenz.

If you start early in the morning in Neudenau-Herbolzheim, the cycle tour continues east along the Jagst for a while, heading towards the sunrise. The route takes you along countless natural treasures: Orchard meadows, lush pastures and fields where organic farming is practiced with much love for nature. In many inns along the way, you will then experience how good the natural products taste. After passing Möckmühl and Roigheim, treat your feet to a refreshing dip in a lake between Seckach and Fischbach. Or you can simply listen to the numerous bird species during their daily song rehearsals. After this relaxing break, cycle through a dense forest, the Neckartal-Odenwald Nature Park, towards Schefflenz.

Attractive educational and adventure trails and many other recreational opportunities round off the nature park's offerings. You then follow the Schefflenz along mysterious hollow paths and picturesque villages to the mouth of the Jagstmündung river.

Tips for taking a break

  • Naturschutzgebiet Essigberg/Hörnle near Roigheim:
On narrow paths through former vineyards, you can enjoy the view from various benches.
Especially recommended in May and June, when the wild orchids are in bloom.
Not directly on the cycle path, approx. 700 m from Roigheim town hall
  • historic old town of Möckmühl
Small items of luggage can also be stored in various e-bike charging stations for a stroll through the old town. For a beautiful view, climb the footpath up to the castle.
