Über den See in die Schweiz

Varied cycle tour on parts of the Lake Constance cycle path in Switzerland and Germany, with use of the two car ferries Friedrichshafen-Romanshorn and Constance-Meersburg. Ideal as a day tour. Also suitable for families. Pure cycling distance 46 km - 65 km including the distances covered by the car ferries.

Starting in Hagnau or Immenstaad, the tour leads along the Lake Constance cycle path towards Friedrichshafen. Enjoy the view of the vineyards and orchards. The natural landscape takes on breathtaking colors, especially in spring when it is in bloom and in autumn at harvest time. From Hagnau to Friedrichshafen, the cycle path runs on asphalt paths, sometimes parallel to the main road. In Friedrichshafen, it is worth visiting the Zeppelin Museum right by the harbor. From Friedrichshafen, you can take the car ferry to Romanshorn in Switzerland. The ferry runs every hour all year round - please check the timetable and take your identity card with you. From Romanshorn, you cycle along flat, well-marked cycle routes through the Swiss villages of Uttwil, Kesswil, Güttingen, Altnau, Münsterlingen and Kreuzlingen towards Constance. Once back in Germany, it is worth stopping off in the picturesque old town of Constance. Away from the main roads, the route continues past the Konstanzer Trichter, the outlet of the Obersee into the Seerhein, and the Hörnle lido to Konstanz-Staad. From there, the car ferry runs every fifteen minutes back to the other side of the lake, to Meersburg. Small idyllic alleyways, magnificent castle grounds and Meersburg Castle invite you to stroll and enjoy. From there, you cycle along the Lake Constance cycle path back to the starting point.
