From the center of Altburg, the trail leads through the adventurous Schweinbachtal valley to the historic Hirsau monastery. The trail continues along the wild nature of the Schinderbach stream to the Alzenbrunnen fountain and back to Altburg.
The circular walk is incredibly varied: views from the heights to the Swabian Alb, but also a wonderful long passage under the coniferous canopy of the forest. Cultural landscape at the beginning and end of the hike, but also narrow natural paths along the quietly babbling, romantic Schweinbach stream and above the wild-looking Schinderbach stream. A relatively short but crisp ascent and a long, sometimes barely noticeable descent. Lots of nature, but also significant culture dating back to the 1st millennium.
