Traumschleife Wildnis-Trail Weiskirchen

In complete seclusion, the hiking trail leads along narrow, natural paths over the heights of the Black Forest high forest around Weiskirchen. The "Wahnbachtal" nature reserve and the "Behlengraben" are hiked through. The Herberloch, an old quarry that has developed into a natural biotope over the years, is also located on the edge of the trail.

The trail climbs steadily upwards past the natural monuments "Iltisfels" and "Hoher Fels". Sometimes steep, sometimes less steep, you hike along narrow forest paths towards the Schimmelkopf. Below the Schimmelkopf, at 694 meters one of the highest elevations in Saarland, the trail winds its way through the forest. Solitude and silence reign in this seemingly endless forest area.A path leads through the Wahnbachtal nature reserve. The narrow valley of the low mountain stream is also known as the "Wahnbachtal soul sanctuary". You leave the valley via a steep path upwards along the so-called Behlengraben.Past old quarries, the route leads to the Schlittental stream. Once again, you have to hike uphill for quite some time. The dream scenery at Herberloch awaits. In the hollow of a former quarry, which can be recognized by its ochre-coloured rock, lies a small, almost mirror-like lake.

Following another forest stream and crossing several bridges, we first descend from the Herberloch before the dream loop leads back to Weiskirchen along further forest paths.
