This tour constantly alternates between Germany and France. You often don't notice the border crossing, in Leidingen it's a question of which side of the road you're on. Generally speaking, there is less traffic on the French side, but the asphalt is rougher. The ascent at Rammelfangen leads through dense forest, the second part of the tour to the region's most famous sights: the old French European radio station, the European monument with a panoramic view and the Völklingen Ironworks World Heritage Site.
