On tour in the realm of the Sun King. Explore the interesting history of the fortified town of Saarlouis on a tour through the region. City gates, barracks, fortifications and historic administrative buildings are reminders of the past and give Saarlouis its very special charm. The old town of Saarlouis offers the very best opportunities to relax at the end of the tour.
Cultural highlights along the 48-kilometre route include the German Newspaper Museum with exhibits from the historical development of the newspaper and the Cristallerie in Wadgassen, which has now been expanded into an adventure center. The Wolfsrath wildlife enclosure is also an attraction.
At the eco-lake, with its natural reed beds, in Dillingen, our route meets the particularly family-friendly Saar cycle path. You can glide along at a leisurely pace and complete the loop in Saarlouis or simply continue cycling!
