Route tour along the Blies between Blieskastel-Lautzkirchen and Gersheim-Reinheim in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve on a completely asphalted surface with no inclines. The approx. 16 km long cycle path is suitable for all types of bikes: from road bikes with thin tires to mountain bikes.

The flat route is characteristic of this route tour, as the cycle path was still an old railroad line leading into the Bliesgau until 1991. In 2000, this was converted into a cycling and hiking trail and opened on May 1st. Since then, cyclists have been able to enjoy a leisurely cycle from Blieskastel-Lautzkirchen station to Gersheim-Reinheim in the European Cultural Park. More ambitious cyclists can continue south to Sarreguemines or north to Homburg and Rhineland-Palatinate. Right at the start of the cycle tour, the baroque town of Blieskastel invites you to linger. Several cafés, ice cream parlors and restaurants serving hot meals invite you to take a break. Culturally, there is also something for everyone here: a baroque old town, the orangery on the Schlossberg, the monastery with monastery garden, a listening tour and tasty treats from the "Edible City". Further along the cycle path, there are numerous rest stops along the Blies. There are also access routes to the picturesque village of Wolfersheim and to the Kirchheimer Hof or Herbitzheim where you can take a break. At the end of the tour, the Bliesbruck-Reinheim European Cultural Park awaits those interested in culture and nature. The archaeological park is located right on the French border and fills the biosphere with pride thanks to its Gallo-Roman excavations.
