Bickenalb-Runde

Refreshingly short circular tour through the Bliesgau biosphere and part of the French Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park with wonderful views of the gently undulating landscape. The approx. 23 km long cycle tour shows all the typical charms of the Bliesgau biosphere. The tour is suitable for active cyclists as well as families with children with experienced legs.

The circular tour is marked throughout as the "Circuit de la Bickenalbe Runde" and starts at the sports field in Blieskastel-Altheim. From there, a well-paved dirt road leads towards Utweiler. The typical wide views of the Bliesgau always accompany the route. Whether views of Altheim, Peppenkum or Medelsheim, everyone gets their money's worth here. After Utweiler, the smallest village in the Bliesgau, the route crosses the invisible French border and even leads through part of the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park via the village of Erching. Real nature lovers can enjoy the biosphere and nature park here. A short time later, the German border is crossed again and the cycle path leads to Medelsheim, a cozy, pretty little village in the Bliesgau biosphere. Here, those interested can also take a detour to the Medelsheim Way of the Cross with its chapel. The village and the view of Medelsheim from there will leave you feeling at peace. The route ends via Peppenkum back in Altheim, where you can also take a detour to the Priminiusgarten. This is freely accessible and also suitable for a break.
