Weite Wiesen

This circular hike leads to the Hundschen Teichen ponds, where rare bird species can be observed from the viewing platform. It continues along the peat dredging lakes, where a short detour to the bird lake is also possible. A viewing platform has also been installed there. You return to Wilhelmsdorf via the Riedhof (Riedwirtschaft) through the high forest.

If you are visiting the Wilhelmsdorf nature conservation center and the Ried nature trails are too short for you, this hike is a good option. Through the Eulenbruck, once the mightiest raised bog in the reed, to the peat ponds, over the former railroad embankment to the Ostrach and across the wide meadows back to Wilhelmsdorf. Along the way, you will pass the pastures of Pinzgau cattle, Belted Galloways and Galloways.
