Description by the author

Enjoy hiking on the eleventh and final stage of the RemstalWeges from Buoch to Remseck. Through vineyards and along the Rems river to where it flows into the Neckar.

WARNING full closure of the cycle and footpath between Remseck a.N. and Klinglestraße in Waiblingen-Hegnach until probably fall 2023 due to tree felling and path work. For the GPX track of the detour for Pedestrians please click HERE!

The tour leads from Buoch via Gundelsbach towards the municipality of Korb, which is nestled in the vineyard slopes of the "Drei Köpfe". The vine-covered triumvirate of "Kleinheppacher Kopf", "Hörnleskopf" and "Korber Kopf" has not only given its name to the famous "Kopf" red wine vineyard, but also characterizes the idyllic landscape around Korb. The route now leads through forests and vineyards along the Kleinheppacher Kopf. In good weather conditions, you can watch daring paragliders take off from the runway on the slope of the Kleinheppacher Kopf. There is a spacious barbecue and playground at the top, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of Korb, Kleinheppach and the surrounding area. The route continues to Hörnleskopf, a starting point for other beautiful hiking and walking trails, forest playgrounds, shelters and fireplaces.

You start at Hörnleskopf, from where you hike over the Hanweiler Sattel in the direction of Korber Kopf. From the viewing plateau at Berghäusle, one of the most beautiful spots in the Rems Valley, you have a wonderful view of Korb and the surrounding area. The sculpture trail "Köpfe am Korber Kopf" combines art and nature in an amazing way and the geological nature trail provides information about the soil formations in the vineyard. The Korber Kopf forms an all-round beautiful backdrop for a walk through the vineyards as the seasons change. Now we descend the Korber Kopf and head towards Söhrenberg, where there are lovely places to rest. From here, the route continues in a dead straight line towards Neustadt-Hohenacker, a district of the large county town of Waiblingen. Leave the Neustadt industrial area on your left and follow the road until you reach the railroad tracks, which you cross under using an underpass. Turn left after the railroad tracks to reach the Rems.

Now you come to the part of the Remstal Trail that follows the course of the river in the valley: You walk along the Rems loops on the right bank of the Rems to Remseck, the end point of the hiking trail. Here the Rems flows into the Neckar. Only in the town itself, shortly before the confluence, do you cross the Rems and then the Neckar. After a few meters you can cross a wooden bridge from which you have a beautiful view of the Rems estuary and thus of the last stage destination of the RemstalWeg. Take the subway to Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt or to Stuttgart main station.
