This beautiful, well-signposted circular trail of the Besenhex hiking group is also easy to hike on warmer summer days, as it mostly leads through shady forest and hollow paths. You can also cool off at the Kindlesbrunnen and Gemerichbrunnen fountains.Start and finish point is the Kraichtal-Unteröwisheim hiking station. Following the yellow hiking signs with the black broom witch symbol, you leave Unteröwisheim in a southerly direction. Immediately after leaving the town, a short detour to the Kindlesbrunnen fountain offers the first welcome refreshment. Back on the main path, you will find the turn-off to the long route (11 km) via the Mönchswald forest after about 500 m on the left. If you opt for the 7 km short route, stay on the Heidelsheimer Weg and continue straight ahead. The long and short routes continue to the Kreuzhohle, a hollow path protected as a natural monument, which is considered a species-rich habitat and historical cultural asset for humans and animals. Further hollow paths follow along the route.At Rohrbacher Hof, the hiking trail signs point the way back towards Kraichtal-Unteröwisheim. Before reaching the village, you can cool your hands and feet again at the Gemerichbrunnen fountain before ending the day of hiking in the Unteröwisheim restaurant.
