Hike in the footsteps of Götz von Berlichingen on your tour from the Neckar Valley to the Himmelreich - green forests and fantastic views await you!

This tour starts in the lovely old town of Gundelsheim before passing Horneck Castle and climbing the Himmelsleiter up to the Gundelsheim Himmelreich. On the ascent, it is worth taking a look back at Horneck Castle, the barrage and the Neckar valley - a highlight of the tour right at the start of the hike. The hike leads along the ridgeway of the Michaelberg with its chapel before continuing past the forest parking lot and along the edge of the forest. Before the Böttinger Hof farm, the path leads to the left. A romantic descent awaits you first. After crossing the bottom of the valley, the ascent to Hornberg Castle awaits. Explore the castle, where Götz von Berlichingen lived, and enjoy the fantastic view! On the way back, you will pass the small hamlet of Stockbronn before entering the peaceful, idyllic Gundelsheim forest. Here you can experience pure nature. On the way back, you can take another break at the Sauwiese meadow. Barbecue facilities are available here. Or you can succumb to the culinary temptations of Gundelsheim's restaurants.
