Description

The Prignitz high plateau steeply descends into the Urstromtal lowland, forming a striking boundary of the landscape units Perleberger Heide/Rhin-Havel-Luch. The houses of the Hanseatic city of Havelberg cling closely to the slope. Once, south-facing areas of the slope were used for viticulture. To the east of the city, towards Wöplitz, a species-rich slope forest has developed.

The circular route runs along the base of the slope onto the plateau and ends with a unique view over the Lower Havelniederung from the Lug ins Land. The hiker is provided with information accompanying the path about the natural environment, habitats and species, as well as sustainable use.
