Short Description

Whether on foot, by mountain bike, or even as a winter hike, this 28 km circular route is an experience all year round.

Description

A hike to the Hanskühnenburg and along the ridge of the Ackers is an experience all year round.

For those who arrive hungry or thirsty at the Hanskühnenburg, they can indulge in hearty meals at the forest inn in the national park from 9am to 5pm (between November and March from 9am to 4pm). From the observation tower of the Hanskühnenburg, you have a wonderful view over the Southern Harz Foreland and towards the Brocken.

Route Description

We start our tour at the parking lot of the Bleichestelle. From there, the path leads over the black bridge along the fishing nature trail (towards Riefensbeek) to the forebay. We cover a distance of 9 km to get there. From the forebay, we head directly to the Hanskühnenburg, which invites you to take an extensive rest. The observation tower should definitely be climbed. After a detour on the Acker, we take the same path back to Osterode.

A tip on the side: The name Ackerblick has nothing to do with the agricultural field – it comes from Middle High German agger, which means ridge or wall - that is exactly the geographical form of the Acker ridge.
