Description

This easy hike leads through a diverse nature past the geological natural monument Copper shale outcrop over the Kupferberg. It continues over a part of the Kaiserweg past the Itelteich. At the local Hexentanzplatz or the Ellricher Blick (stamp 167) you can then get stamped. From the witches, it goes into the Himmelreich and then back to the starting point.

Directions

The starting point for this easy, well 8 km long hike is at the intersection of Wiedaer Straße - Harzstraße - Ellricher Straße. Here you start on the road Unter den Schießeichen towards Eulenpark. From there continue along the Wieda on the Magister-Eckstorm-Weg to the geological natural monument Copper shale outcrop. Once you have passed that, continue over a part of the Kaiserweg to the Itelteich (still a cultural-historical and technical monument today). Then continue to the Walkenried Hexentanzplatz or the Ellricher Blick. Here, under the viewpoint, a railway tunnel runs through, which played an important role during the time when Germany was divided. Some refugees are said to have hidden here and tried to escape through the tunnel. To the east, you have a beautiful view of Ellrich and the surrounding area. Refreshed and stamped (stamp 167), then head from the Hexentanzplatz through the Himmelreich, which the monks gave a Christian name as a counterpart to the pagan Hexentanzplatz, and back to the starting point via the hiking trail.
