Explore Quedlinburg on a good 11 km long circular hike over Westerhausen.
From Quedlinburg, follow the signs of the hiking trail German Kings and Emperors of the Middle Ages to Westerhausen. Along the way, you will have beautiful views towards Altenburg and the Harz Mountains. On a clear day, you can see the Brocken.
In Westerhausen, walk alongside a garden area. Near the end of the garden area, continue straight ahead and from here follow the circular route R2 towards Quedlinburg (Forsthaus Rennplatz, Rennplatz, Eselstall, Altenburg). On the Altenburg, you will find the Altenburgwarte (a medieval watchtower). The tower is accessible, but the lower half is pitch dark / not illuminated – flashlight required! From the tower, you will have a beautiful view towards the Harz Mountains and the city. From here, follow the marking of the green cross through the Brühl towards the waterworks in the city.
